Caitlin's Trumpet Call

After months of talking about playing the flute, Caitlin decided she wanted to play the trumpet in the school band. She also looked at the saxophone (though, Mom was OK passing up the cost of one of those!), but she held the trumpet and just started glowing with excitement. The trumpet was IT.

We are so blessed to be in a school that understands the value and benefit of music, and has such a great music program. If it weren't for that, my kids would never learn to play an instrument. I'm not musically inclined. I wish I could sit at the piano and play a beautiful meoldy, but I can't. And I'm not patient enough to learn correctly. Maybe someday... we'll see.

After witnessing the chaos of all the kids playing and chattering while Caitlin walked around the house blowing on her new trumpet, I debated naming this post "We Are Now the Family Circus," but decided not to. This is about Caitlin and her new musical adventure. And, to let you know that if I take up sign language because I no longer have my sense of hearing, you'll know why.
