Love My Guy

This week's challenge at iheartfaces is Best Face in January. I would normally submit a photo of one of my  kids, but I'm so excited to finally have taken some photos of my hubby & me, that I'm going with this one:

Leah's Visit in a Nutshell

The 19 days Leah came to visit us went by way too quickly. The house still seems to have a certain emptiness with her gone. Her leftover alfredo is in the fridge, along with half a dozen Rockstar cans she didn't get to drink. Her shampoo is still in the shower, and her spot on the couch is empty. Even watching Chuck just won't be the same.
 *sniff*

OK, enough wallowing in self pity. On with the pictures (though there aren't pictures of everything. Like our sister's night, her weekend alone with the kids, family at Pizza Hut, and other times the camera was left behind).

Kids were patiently waiting to see Leah...

Still waiting...

There she is!

They were super excited!

Had to get a group shot with Flat Stanley...

After we left the airport, we made our way to one of Leah's favorite restaurants, Chipotle...

After that, we went to Sam's Club...

The next morning, Leah helped me in Children's Worship. As payment for her help, I let her model for me. Just kidding. But she was a great sport, letting me take her pictures in the snow. And not just ANY snow - her first snowfall!

Elise loving on Sniper in her own way...

I took this from an upstairs window...

I took this from the kitchen nook window...
(I really don't like the cold.)

Robert and Leah seeing who could handle the sub-zero temps the longest. Leah won, but she had the sweatshirt...

Wednesday night, while Sierra was at youth group, we stopped over to see Andrew. And his parents. But mainly Andrew... ;)

We soon got the hint that Leah wasn't a morning person. She lives in the H.T.Z (Herd Time Zone), which is its very own time zone, and not one easily recovered from.

But Elise had her own way of waking her up.

We had family over to celebrate Leah's birthday a little late, and Robert's a little early...

I didn't take this picture, but it brings a smile to my face every time I look at it...

And for those of you who pay attention to detail, I replaced the calendar last week...

We celebrated Robert's birthday morning with cake in bed...

Robert had requested that we not use the pink wrapping paper, so I did my best to hide the fact that I forgot...

Sniper joined in on the fun, too...

Robert finding out that I had to use Super-Glue to wrap his gifts...

As you may (or may not) have guessed by the suitcase on the dresser, we celebrated in the morning because we were taking off for a weekend getaway that included lunch with friends, Jeff Dunham, and shopping. Thank you, Leah, for staying with the kiddos!

After his birthday lunch at Texas Roadhouse; very full and over-exposed... :)

We had pretty good seats...

But then my phone died. Robert's phone has the other pictures of the show.

Hey look! It's Chuck & Sarah at the Buy More! Actually, it's just us at Best Buy...

You can't tell by this photo, but Elise was so very excited that Sniper stayed on her lap without having to be forced. :)

Leah came along for the Youth Marketplace that Caitlin's grade took part in.

Caitlin's group designed their own coloring books to sell. The name of their company is "Kids Coloring."

Caitlin's team...

Just a pretty sunset. It would have been better if I wasn't taking it from a moving car...

Good morning!
(Leah, please don't kill me!)

Leah survived waking up by 7am, three days in a row, to help Robert at his store...

After we went sledding, Leah, the kids, & I went to a restaurant here in town for her last dinner with us (poor Robert was still working). We pretty much never eat here, and since Leah has never been there, we went. We got a chuckle at the kids' menu when we were charged an extra dollar because Sierra wanted a bun on her hamburger, and Caitlin ordered chicken "strips" that only came with one strip.
:P

We got home just in time for Grandpa's visit to say good-bye...

When we go to the airport, the kids love to park on the top level of the parking structure...

My baby sister is taller than me! It's funny, I'm the oldest, but as soon as my youngest brother hits a growth spurt, I'll be the shortest! Not that I'm short at 5'8, but it's kinda weird to be the oldest and the shortest.

Who's the cool dude in the elevator? That's right - he's mine. :)

Killing time before boarding...

Saying good-bye.

 There she goes...

And there's her plane...

It was so good to have you, Leah! We miss you!
